Charles Riley Memorial Reserve, North Beach - Draft Community Parkland Concept In July 2008, Council endorsed the Charles Riley Memorial Reserve Master Plan. The purpose of this plan is to accommodate the future sport and recreational needs of sport clubs, community groups and the local community.
The master plan consisted of a number of strategies with four being:
Expansion of the existing lower oval northern junior AFL field into a senior sized field |
Development of a community parkland consisting of a major accessible playground, picnic/BBQ area, dog exercise area and relocated war memorial |
Expanded western car park |
Relocated vehicle entry point to the western car park |
The aims of these changes are to improve safety, functionality, community informal recreational opportunities and to accommodate the future users of Charles Riley Memorial Reserve, North Beach.
Based on past draft master plan comments, safety standards, sport guidelines, site constraints and industry trends, Officers have developed a draft Community Parkland Concept including oval and car park conceptual design (attached) and are now seeking community feedback on this design.
