General Meeting of Electors
A statutory requirement of the Local Government Act 1995 is that each Council must have a General Meeting of Electors once every financial year. The City usually holds its Electors General Meeting in October/November of each year.

The purpose of the meeting is as follows:

• To receive the Annual Report, Annual Financial statements and Auditor's Report for the previous financial year
• Other general business

The Meeting is attended by the Mayor, Councillors and Directors who are happy to answer any questions that may arise.

Special Meeting of Electors
In accordance with section 5.28 of the Local Government Act 1995 electors of the City of Stirling can call for a Special Meeting of Electors by submitting a petition to the Mayor signed by 100 electors and specifying the matters to be discussed at the meeting in accordance with the regulations. The special meeting must then be held not more than 35 days after the day on which the Mayor received the request.
