home   >    development Development The City of Stirling is responsible for issueing various approvals for development carried out on private land. These approvals are covered by various Acts including the Planning and Development Act, Health Act, Liqour Licencing Act, Building Regulations. Development on private land normally requires the approval of the Council. In addtion, the City also carries out and approves development on public land, including but not limited to : New Dwellings; Additions and Renovations; Industrial and Commercial Buildings; Demolitions; Signs; Liquor Licences; New Driveways; Food Premises; and Alfresco Licences. Development on public land may involve the following: Bus Shelters; Drainage; Roads; Footpaths; On street parking; Street lighting; Traffic; and Verges.
