Pool Closures
The outdoor pool area (including 50m pool and dive pool) will be closing for essential maintenance from 6.00pm on Sunday 5 September 2010 reopening at 8.00am on Monday 27 September 2010 (pending progress on maintenance).


General Information
Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre is a world-class Aquatic and Health & Fitness Centre located at
62 Alexander Drive, Inglewood, 7 kilometres north of Perth GPO.

Formerly the Inglewood Swimming Pool, the pool originally opened on 11 February 1967.

The Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre reopened on 11 April 2001 with continued success and in excess of 13,000 attendances per week.


Facilities include:
• Outdoor heated 50 metre, 8-lane pool • Indoor heated 25 metre, 8-lane pool
• Outdoor heated deep-water/dive pool • Indoor heated leisure pool with beach entry
• Outdoor heated learners and toddlers  pools • Heated spa and dry sauna
• Landscaped gardens and lawns • Health & Fitness Centre (gymnasium)
• Playground • Group Fitness studio with 50+ classes per week
• Shaded areas and free BBQ facilities • Cafe
• Crèche • Function and meeting rooms


Disabled access is available to all facilities and include submersible wheelchair and hoists.

The Man Behind the Name
Councillor Tyzack has more than 30 years of history of active involvement with community groups, many of them within the Inglewood and Dianella area. He is a retired architect and former Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.

Councillor Terry Tyzack, with 30 years service on Council, is the most experienced local government representative on the City of Stirling Council. Councillor Tyzack has been a Councillor of the Inglewood Ward since 1991, as well as from 1974 to 1989. During this time he served as Mayor for four years from 2005 to 2007, in addition to 1984 to 1986 and Deputy Mayor for one year from 1995 to 1996.

Councillor Tyzack has chaired all of the Council’s Standing Committees as well as many Advisory Committees. Currently he is a member of the North West District Planning Committee, Mirrabooka Project Steering Committee, Planning and Development Committee and Resource Management Committee.

Councillor Tyzack is an extremely active member of many advisory committees co-ordinated by the City, including the Coastal Aquatic Committee, Internal Audit Committee and the Balga Aquatic Centre Redevelopment Committee.

Beyond the City of Stirling, Councillor Tyzack serves as a delegate member on the North Metropolitan Zone Local Government Association and North West District Regional Recreation Committee. Additionally, Councillor Tyzack is a former Commissioner of the Western Australian Planning Commission and is the Chair of the Governing Council of the West Coast College of TAFE.

Councillor Tyzack has a special interest in planning, legislation, elections and the people of the community.

Councillor Tyzack has dedicated a long and outstanding service to Local Government and his service as a Councillor has always been on behalf of the Community. Furthermore, Councillor Tyzack has also shown significant achievements and active involvement in intergovernmental relations.
